Her experiences, including time in environmental planning, volunteering both locally and globally, has fostered a holistic perspective on the importance of creating spaces that foster a sense of belonging and pride among the community. This passion for placemaking, the environment, and a bottom-up approach to development is complemented by her strengths in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and a strong proficiency in writing and interpersonal communication.
In previous positions, she has gained experience in land use planning, environmental assessments and stakeholder engagement for the renewable energy, property, clean tech, and circular economy sectors.
Kate sees urban planning as a possibility for change, a discipline that uses the knowledge we have to strive towards a new relationship with each other and with the earth.
