Activation Plan for Currumbin Eco-Parkland
Director Andrew Neighbour recently joined Queensland Government Minister Grace Grace to publicly unveil the Activation Plan for Currumbin Eco-Parkland. The 148 hectare site, less than 5km’s from Currumbin Beach, will become one of Australia’s largest eco-parklands. The park vision is centred around protecting local flora and fauna and will feature new hiking trails, picnic areas and land for wildlife rehabilitation.
This release follows extensive community consultation and a comprehensive ecological study of the site completed by Gold Coast Botany, MRA Consulting and the team at DDW Fauna.
LatStudios look forward to seeing this vision come to life in collaboration with Traditional Owners, local community, environmental groups, CoGC, QPWS and the team at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, who has already begun establishing a koala fodder plantation as part of the parkland.
A huge shout out to the tireless efforts of Friends of Currumbin in championing and advocating the safeguarding of this site over many years.
