We are a studio of urban designers, landscape architects, architects and landscape planners. Our design culture is drawn from a shared appreciation that the success of a place – regardless of scale or function – is fundamentally determined by responsiveness to environment and context.
Our story
Our name LatStudios establishes our connection to our surroundings, reminding us that the local context in which we work underpins our approach and ethos. The latitude-based studio name was first established in 2010 as Lat27, our Megwinjin/Miangin Brisbane Studio. Our first studio set about creating a multi-disciplinary design space, thriving on place driven creativity. Our Naarm Melbourne studio originally named Lat37 was founded in 2020, offering the same creative consultancy but with a local presence for Victoria. With two studios we have grown to become a national team named LatStudios, offering a comprehensive response to addressing how our communities, built environments and natural systems can co-exist and thrive. We are one company with two local studios, practicing nationally.

Our quality management
LatStudios is committed to continually striving to improve our service offering.
We have developed the LatStudios Quality Management System (QMS) as a live tool to assist us in meeting the above objectives. The QMS is applied to all our projects to ensure that we meet or exceed our clients’ expectations.
The LatStudios QMS has been developed to align to and is third party accredited to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015. The policies and procedures are continuously reviewed, updated and improved to maintain currency and relevance to the development of our practice and our clients’ needs.
We train and monitor our staff in applying the LatStudios QMS to the projects they are working on. Both the Director’s and staff of LatStudios understand their obligations in ensuring that through the rigorous application of the QMS policies and procedures we will continue to provide our clients with exemplary service.

Design is more than just aesthetic quality. It defines a rigorous process of conceptualisation, analysis, ideas generation, testing, refinement, and realisation. Our approach to all projects, regardless of scale or strategic influence, is underpinned by the creativity and the rigor of the design process. Our solutions are grounded in the realities of place, time, people and the practical application of creative thought.
