Sebastian presents Masters thesis to local council

Sebastian Cocks, talented Landscape Architect from our Melbourne studio, recently presented his award-winning RMIT Masters thesis ‘Patchwork Plains’, to Brimbank City Council.

Tackling the challenge of reintegrating Victoria's native grasslands into the urban fabric of Naarm’s/Melbourne's western suburbs, Sebastian’s ‘Patchwork Plains’ project explores innovative methods for stitching these fragmented ecosystems back together, fostering biodiversity and amplifying the City’s landscape identity. At LatStudios, we believe Brimbank has a pivotal role to play in leading the charge for this critical ecological outcome.

Sebastian's passion for urban ecology also extends beyond his academic achievements to include his volunteer conservation work at the Iramoo Grassland Reserve in St Albans. He’s an inspiration to us all.

Want to learn more about the protection of these urban grasslands? Reach out to LatStudios through our contact page (link in our bio) or Sebastian directly - we're happy to share our knowledge and explore ways to get involved!

Country: The project is situated on the unceded land of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong Peoples.
