Project Details
LatStudio in collaboration with JCB Architects were engaged to design a new terrace at Chadstone Shopping Centre with the aim to meld the outdoors with the indoors while creating a refreshed and updated centre experience.
Bridged by a robustly landscaped pedestrian pathway, the indoor atrium - reminiscent of a greenhouse – provides warmth and solar access year round, while the outdoor terrace provides a visual extension and over the treetops towards the city.
LatStudios worked closely with JCB and project engineers to maximise the amount of landscape which extended in part of an existing outdoor terrace, while working within the structural constraints of the car park below and leasing areas.
